Marine Corps Information Maneuver School

MCIMS provides MOS training to the Information Maneuver (17XX) occupational field, manages information maneuver doctrine, and supports development of information maneuver capabilities (T&R standards, curriculum, tactical systems, etc.) in order to align MOS production, community best practices, and doctrinal relevance to meet Fleet Marine Force (FMF) and Joint Force requirements for trained and qualified Information Maneuver Officers and Enlisted Marines. 

Students attending MCIMS are not permitted to miss any scheduled training.  Failure to adhere to this will result in academic disenrollment.   

Marines filling CA/CMO billets have seat priority. 

Majors with more than 4 years TIG and above are ineligible to attend the 0530 course.

Travel

Travel to the course must be completed the Sunday Prior to the start date, and return travel must be Friday (Graduation Day). Training will not be abbreviated to meet your travel plans.  Please do not schedule return flights prior to 1630 on Friday, the last day of the course.

Billeting 

Students not living in the local area are required to secure lodging at Liversedge Hall (Quantico BOQ 703-784-3149). If none is available, it is the Marine's responsibility to obtain a certificate of non-availability (CNA).  

*NOTE FOR CA COURSE: During week 4, you are required to check out of your lodging on Monday since you will be in a "field" status. Billeting during Week 4 (to include those residing in the local area) is in the field. 

Civil Affairs MOS course provides Marine Corps Officers and Enlisted with the knowledge and skills necessary to conduct Civil Affairs Operations and support MAGTF CMO as a Civil Affairs Marine.

Civil Affairs Marines act as an interface between the MAGTF commander and a wide variety of civilian populations, agencies, and organizations. Civil Affairs Marines inform, influence, shape, and gain access to the cognitive and physical civil environment through targeted and integrated Civil Affairs Activities. 
Upon successful completion of the course, Civil Affairs Marines will be able to assist the MAGTF commander to plan, coordinate, and conduct Civil Affairs Operations and Civil-Military Operations. Civil Affairs Marines help ensure the civil implications of all MAGTF missions are considered throughout the Marine Corps Planning Process.

-The FMOS for Active and Reserve Officers (1730) is awarded at the successful completion of the course.
-The PMOS for Reserve Enlisted (1732) is awarded at the successful completion of the course. 


-The Civil Affairs MOS is one of three requirements to be awarded the Influence Officer (1707) or Influence Specialist (1751) MOS IAW NAVMC 1200.1_ MOS Manual. 

This course focuses on an advanced level understanding of the CA methodology along with the integration of CMO into MAGTF and JTF staff planning, execution and assessment.  The student will have a thorough understanding of civil preparation of the battlespace, stability (operations) dynamics, interorganizational coordination, and the application of CA capabilities and CMO in support of MAGTF, Joint, and Combined operations.  

 

MOPC is designed to create a Basic Operations in the Information Environment (OIE) Staff Officer (1781) who is skilled in the art and science of integrating, coordinating, and synchronizing information activities into Marine Corps operations. This staff officer is able to: advise and explain the information warfighting function to the Commander and Staff, analyze and evaluate all aspects of information and the information environment (IE), and execute and assess all aspects of Information. This staff officer will be able to develop Information plans and contribute to Military Deception (MILDEC) and Operational Security (OPSEC) plans at all formational levels of Marine Corps Operations.

MOSC is an introductory course designed to provide enlisted Marines with an understanding of the Information Warfighting Function. This course is the formal education requirement for the 1751 Influence Specialist PMOS.
