The Marine Detachment at Dam Neck Naval Annex, Virginia, provides both basic and advanced intelligence skill training and education for officers and Marines in preparation for duties as intelligence professionals at every echelon of the Marine Air Ground Task Force, the Joint Force, and the National Intelligence Community.

Take I-64 East to I-264 East. Take the I-264 East exit to Virginia Beach.
Proceeding on I-264 East take the Laskin Road / First Colonial Road exit.
Bear right toward First Colonial Rd.
You will merge onto Virginia Beach Blvd for approx ¾ mile.
At the first traffic light, turn right on First Colonial Road heading south toward Naval Air Station Oceana.
First Colonial Road will turn into Oceana BLVD.
Proceed on Oceana BLVD. If you need a vehicle pass for Dam Neck Annex, turn right on Tomcat BLVD and follow the signs to the NAS Oceana Pass ID Office before proceeding past NAS Oceana. The office is located on your right side just before the main gate to NAS Oceana. If you do NOT require a vehicle pass, follow Oceana BLVD past NAS Oceana to General Booth BLVD. Turn right on General Booth BLVD. Once on General Booth Blvd, merge into the far-left hand lane.
Follow General Booth BLVD to Dam Neck Road (approx. ¼ mile).
Turn left on Dam Neck Road. Dam Neck Road will take you to the Dam Neck Annex main gate.
Pass straight through the main gate (see map) and at the second right bear right onto Regulus Avenue. MCIS is located on the left (approx. 1 mile) south on Regulus Avenue.
Located in Virginia Beach, Virginia, MARDET Dam Neck is part of Marine Corps Intelligence Schools and produces Intelligence and Ground Sensor Emplacement Marines; develops superior Marine intelligence professionals through adult learning approaches, modern technology and innovative instructional methods and delivers resilient Marines capable of providing information needed to win across all warfighting domains in the Fleet Marine Force.
The MARDET offers training through formal Programs of Instruction which Marines, Sailors, and Department of Defense and Interagency civilians attend each year. The MARDET is also responsible with providing headquarters and service support to higher echelon Marine Corps Intelligence Schools and USMC Training Command. Once students are trained in their primary military occupational specialty, graduates join the Fleet Marine Force to serve throughout the world in garrison, at sea, and forward deployed.
